Automotive Powerhouse Sponsors Children’s Activities

At Celebrate MAINE Festival

The Raitt Homestead Farm Museum is happy to announce that Prime Motor Group (www.primemotorgroup.com) is joining the 2009 Celebrate MAINE Festival (www.celebrateMAINEfestival.com) on Saturday and Sunday, August 8th and 9th in Eliot, Maine.  The annual event is the largest fundraiser for the Museum’s Capital Campaign.

Ira Rosenberg was enthusiastic to sponsor the Children’s Activities when he learned that this year’s festival partners with the Child Abuse and Prevention Council of York County.  “My family knows we’ve got to protect these kids,” he said.  “We feel it is so important that we continue to support these worthy organizations.”

Laurie DuPaul, Executive Director of the Child Abuse Prevention Council of York County (www.kidsfreetogrow.org), appreciates the backing.  “The Rosenberg family has a duly-earned reputation of helping both kids and seniors,” she said.  “It is gratifying that his family endorses our organization.  The Council couldn’t be happier than to work with a powerhouse like Mr. Rosenberg and the Prime Motor Group.  We’re really looking forward to making the Children’s Activities at Celebrate MAINE Festival fun and exciting!”

“Prime Motor Group has a whole experienced, energetic team working on bringing some really terrific aspects to Celebrate MAINE Festival, said Lisa Raitt, Coordinator of the Children’s Activities at CMF and the Raitt Homestead Farm Museum.  “We’ve heard some of their unique ideas and we’re really excited about all their plans!  We can’t wait for August!”

Jay Piscopo, author and illustrator of the graphic novel The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli (www.captneli.com) will be making a personal appearance, weather permitting, at CMF on Sunday, August 9th.  Kids of all ages will enjoy Jay’s free, personalized, superhero sketches, temporary tattoos and collectible card games.

Mr. Piscopo will be joining the effort in support of the Council as well.  “One of my favorite events every year is the Heroes Convention because of the positive images it conveys to kids,” he said.  “The Council obviously shares my values and I’m very happy to be working with them at Celebrate MAINE Festival.”  The Raitt Homestead Farm Museum and the Child Abuse Prevention Council of York County will share fifty percent of the proceeds of his day’s sales of Volumes 1 and 2 of The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli and the Western Knight Action Figure.

Children’s Activities will also include a Climbing Wall, Bouncy House, and free horse-drawn wagon rides.  Pony rides will be available on Saturday (rain date: Sunday) for $5.00.  J.P.’s Shellfish (www.jpshellfish.com) will offer “tours” of his tractor-trailer cab to kids throughout the weekend.
